Our review

Put your phone on the dashboard and it slides off on the first corner. This AyAsA silicone gel mat sits on the dash and grips whatever you place on it — phone, sunglasses, keys, coins, a GPS or toll transponder — with no adhesive, clips, magnets or suction. You just set it on a clean, dry dash, press an item on for a few seconds, and it stays put through normal driving. It leaves no residue, and it's reusable: when dust kills the grip, wash it with a little dish soap, dry it, and it's sticky again.

At 4.3 stars from over 3,500 ratings it's a cheap, genuinely handy fix, and people use it well beyond the car — kitchen, office, even to hold a plate steady after surgery. Two honest caveats from the reviews. The grip is a touch mixed: it's so tacky that it sometimes lifts off the dash when you peel an item back up, and it slowly loses grip as it gathers dust. And in very hot climates a few owners report the gel softening or separating on a baking dashboard. It's anti-slide, not anti-gravity — it won't hold on a steep incline or under hard braking — but for everyday clutter it does the job for a couple of dollars.

👍 Pros

  • Grips phone, keys, sunglasses, coins — no adhesive
  • No clips, magnets or suction; leaves no residue
  • Washable and reusable — rinse to restore grip
  • Works beyond the car: kitchen, office, desk
  • Cheap and genuinely effective

👎 Cons

  • Grip is mixed — can lift off the dash when you remove an item
  • Loses grip as it gathers dust (needs washing)
  • Gel can soften/separate on a very hot dashboard
  • Anti-slide, not anti-gravity — not for steep inclines

FAQ

Does it use adhesive or magnets?

No — it's a tacky silicone gel that grips a clean, dry surface on its own and lifts off without residue.

Why is it losing its grip?

Dust is the usual culprit — wash it with a little dish soap and water, let it dry, and the grip comes back.

Will it hold my phone on corners?

Yes for normal driving, but it's anti-slide, not anti-gravity — it won't hold on a steep incline or under hard braking.

Can I use it outside the car?

Yes — people use it in the kitchen, office and on desks to keep small items and even plates from sliding.
