Our review

Hotel room coffee is terrible. This portable kettle is the fix. At tumbler size (450ml / 15oz — enough for two cups), it fits in a suitcase alongside your toiletries, weighs almost nothing, and gives you proper hot water anywhere with a power outlet.

The 316 stainless steel inner liner is a genuine upgrade over the 304 grade used in most kettles — it is more corrosion-resistant and food-safe, especially for acidic drinks like lemon water. The LED display shows real-time temperature, and four presets (113, 131, 176, 212F) cover everything from warm milk to full boiling. Auto shut-off kicks in when it reaches your set temperature, and the lid auto-locks during boiling with a one-way pressure release valve that vents steam without leaking.

The trade-off for portability is speed: at 300W (vs 1500W for full-size kettles), it takes about 10 minutes to reach a full boil. That is slower than your kitchen kettle, but perfectly reasonable for a travel device that will not trip hotel room circuits. The heavy-duty cord is a nice quality touch.

The honest downsides: the exterior gets hot during boiling (no double-wall insulation at this price), it turns off immediately at the target temperature with no keep-warm function, and it is 120V only — not dual voltage for international travel. But for domestic trips and office use, it is a compact, well-built solution.

FAQ

How long does it take to boil?

About 10 minutes to reach 212F at full capacity. The 300W power rating is intentionally lower than full-size kettles so it will not trip hotel room or RV circuits.

Does it work internationally?

No — it is 120V only (US/Canada). For international travel, you would need a voltage converter or a dual-voltage kettle.

Is it safe to pour from?

Yes. The lid auto-locks during boiling and only unlocks when the pressure valve has fully vented steam. Use the handle to pour — do not grab the lid directly.

What is 316 stainless steel?

A higher grade than the standard 304 used in most kettles. It is more corrosion-resistant and food-safe, especially for acidic liquids like lemon water or tea.
